My first partial week of daylight shifts went rather well. I think I’m going to like my new job. I drove to Altoona on Thursday, and trained there. That made for an interesting day. I left home a little after 6am and got home right around 8pm. They’re paying me mileage though, so I can’t really complain. It came out to 152 miles round trip, so that’s a pretty good chunk of change.
Andrea and I are going to a Pirate’s game tomorrow with her parents. Andrea’s dad got the tickets free, so that’s always awesome.
The A/C is broke in my car, and that sucks a whole lot, especially considering how hot it’s been this week. I’m going to get it looked at either this week coming, or the next.
I’ve been in a bit of a musical rut lately. I just seem to listen to the same things all the time. The new Dinosaur Jr. cd was in my cd player for something like a month straight. I don’t know if I’m just out of touch, and can’t find anything new interesting, or if they just don’t make much new music that would interest me. There are a few new things that I am interested in right now though, such as the new Tomahawk album, and the new Queens of the Stone Age album, that hasn’t come out yet.
Dell decided to start selling computers with linux, which is incredibly awesome. They’re selling two desktops and one laptop with the latest version of Ubuntu preinstalled. This is a pretty good thing for the linux community as a whole, especially if Dell opens some of their hardware specs, so better drivers can be written. The fact that the system is about $200 less than a comparable windows pc makes it an even better thing.
I’m sitting in my normal Saturday afternoon hangout right now, Java Trails Coffee Shop in Irwin, PA. It’s a pretty nifty little place. They have my favorite coffee, Prestogeorge, and free wi-fi, which is always awesome.
I have burgers marinating in honey-teriyaki marinade at home that I’m going to grill tonight. Just about everything tastes better on the grill.
