Nobody expects it…

Well…

I’ve come to the point where I no longer hate my new job. I still don’t like it, but I don’t dislike it anymore either. It just is. It’s what I have to do right now to pay my bills.

We’ve officially finished the bathroom now, which means the downstairs is all done. We’ve also finished our bedroom, so now all that’s left is the other two bedrooms, the steps, and the upstairs hallway. It’s a weird feeling to have this much done.

Things are screwy

Things are messed up with the blog right now, and I’m tired of screwing with it. I should have it looking good again tomorrow sometime.

The Campaigns the Candidates Wish They Could Run

Sure, the campaigns get nasty. Then again, in some countries the candidate who wins is the one who can have the most opponents killed in the night. There’s so much sugar-coating and spin in our politics that we wonder what it would look like if the gloves really came off.

One week of living the Fayette-nam dream…

So I’ve been unemployed for one week now, and it’s certainly strange for me. I have either been in school or working full time since I was 16. I certainly think that I am enjoying my time off though. I’ve done some cleaning, and grass cutting, and today I had a physical, TB test, blood test, and drug screening for my new job. It’s for a medical equipment company, so they have to be extra careful with the health screenings, which makes sense.

My blood pressure was borderline, but that’s really to be expected with the fact that I’m very overweight, and I’ve been under stress with the job loss and everything.

Andrea graduates with her Master’s Degree in Special Education tonight. I try to tell her all the time, but I don’t think she realizes just how proud of her I am. She will in all likelyhood make a lot more money than me in the long run, and I’m perfectly OK with that.

I’m now sitting in the Coffee Bean Cafe in Latrobe. I figured since I’d be over here for the physical and stuff, I might as well bring the laptop and chill out for a bit. I haven’t been able to do this since last summer, when Andrea was working as a TSS, so it’s nice for a change.

It looks like Andrea and I will be going to Chicago in October instead of our annual trip to the mountains. The reason for this is that ALL is playing at Riot Fest with Scott Reynolds on vocals. ALL hasn’t played a show since 2002 or something, and have only played one show with Scott since 1992 or something. I’m really looking forward to it, as long as we think we can swing it financially.

I drove by the cemetery where Juddy is interred on my way over here today. I miss him everyday, just as much as the day he died. I’m sure he’d be going to Chicago with us if he was around. He loved ALL just as much as I do.

It’s pretty sad that the general election hasn’t even started yet, and I’m already tired of all of this shit. I’m very very tired of the idiots and assholes that keep being paraded in front of us as candidates. I’ll probably be voting third party again this fall like always, and I’ll do so with pride and conviction. You may say that a vote for a third party candidate is a wasted vote, but voting for what you believe in is never a waste.
